Myself and “Mr M”, met back in 2009 at my workplace, whilst he was on a volunteering scheme as part of his full time job. I was covered in glitter, and he was giving mulled wine and mince pies to little old ladies. Aww!
…It’s cheesy to say, but I knew from the moment we first spoke on that day, that we’d get together!!
We kept in contact from the very next day and spoke in great lengths on the internet for over 3 months before we actually met up again, in February 2010. By mid-March it was ‘official’; many romantic dates were arranged, and I was thoroughly spoilt with meals and trips out to various places!
Mr M finally (I say finally, but I didn’t really have to wait that long although it felt like forever!) proposed on Wednesday 6th July 2011 at a gorgeous place called Kynance Cove in Cornwall whilst we were on holiday.
I’ll save the full story for my wedding report, but to give you the basics, it involved me feeling travel-sick, a cup of tea, a piece of cake, a failed picnic, a trip down a cliff face and LOTS of tears!!
My gorgeous ring is a marquise cut diamond, set in white gold. The marquise cut was designed for royalty (King Louis XV in the 18th Century) – hence why I wanted one!!!
Marquise diamonds are one of the least common cuts of diamond, and good quality ones can be quite hard to get hold of. In fact, with my ring itself, the diamond was only sourced two days before we were due to leave for our holiday after about a month of searching!!
After a lot of setbacks, we finally set the date for our wedding; we are getting married on Saturday 28th December 2013 at 2pm!!!
I am possibly THE most excited Bride ever – I cannot wait to marry Mr M and start what will be the most amazing journey to old age together.
I am a full on DIY Bride, so expect lots of crafts and DIY projects, lots of bargain hunting and LOTS of excitement…
